Intended Parent Process
Congratulations on your decision to expand your family through surrogacy! This is an exciting and life-changing journey, and we are here to support you every step of the way. At Baby Dream, our surrogacy programs are designed to ensure that your needs are met with compassion, care, and professionalism. Our goal is to make the entire process as smooth and stress-free as possible, so you can focus on the joy of building your family.
Full-Service Approach:
We offer comprehensive surrogacy services, coordinating all aspects of the journey with top medical professionals, psychologists, attorneys, and monitoring facilities as needed.
Guarantee:
If the gestational carrier is unable to proceed, either due to medical reasons or failure to achieve pregnancy after three embryo transfers, we will rematch you with another qualified surrogate to ensure your family-building goals are met.
Pre-Screened Surrogates:
We work with only fully qualified surrogates to ensure that your surrogacy cycle progresses smoothly and in a timely manner.
1. Schedule a Surrogacy Consultation
Gain the knowledge you need to make informed decisions about your surrogacy journey.
During your consultation, we’ll explain the entire surrogacy process, provide insight into what to expect, and help you prepare for the journey ahead with Baby Dream. You can meet with us in person at our Irvine office or via video conference. We also offer language support in English, Chinese, and Spanish.
2. Getting to Know You
We will have you complete a brief profile to better understand your preferences, expectations, and requirements for a surrogate. This helps us match you with surrogates who align well with your family’s needs.
3. Profile Reviews
Both the intended parents and the gestational carrier will have the opportunity to review each other’s profiles. This step allows both parties to assess compatibility and get to know one another before moving forward.
4. Medical Record Review for Gestational Carrier
The gestational carrier will undergo a thorough medical evaluation, including a review of her medical records and any additional tests required to ensure her suitability for pregnancy.
5. Match Meeting
Once both parties express interest and the medical records are approved by your physician, a match meeting is arranged. This is a chance for the intended parents and gestational carrier to meet personally and discuss their expectations, ensuring a good mutual understanding.
6. Agency Agreement
Once you’ve decided to proceed with a match, simply complete our agency agreement and provide an initial deposit. You won’t be required to pay or sign anything further until both you and your surrogate are fully comfortable moving forward with the process.
7. Medical & Psychological Screening for Gestational Carrier
The gestational carrier will undergo comprehensive medical screening, including blood tests, hormone level checks, uterine assessments, STD screenings, and drug testing (for both the carrier and her partner). Additionally, she will undergo a psychological evaluation to assess her emotional readiness for surrogacy. Ongoing support and counseling will be provided throughout the process.
8. Legal Process
Legal contracts will be drafted to outline the rights and responsibilities of all parties involved. This includes the creation of necessary legal documents to ensure that everyone’s interests are protected.
9. The Transfer Cycle
Once medical screening is complete and legal contracts are finalized, the clinic will create a detailed transfer calendar for your surrogate. This calendar will outline the medications she will take, the timing, and the dosages. We will monitor the surrogate’s progress closely to ensure she is responding well to the medication. Following embryo transfer, she will be monitored for a positive pregnancy test. If successful, she will continue with medication and undergo her first three obstetric ultrasounds at the fertility clinic.
10. The Final Stretch
At approximately 10-12 weeks of pregnancy, your surrogate will be transferred to her personal obstetrician. From this point, she will attend monthly doctor’s appointments. We will assist with travel arrangements to ensure you are present at the birth of your baby. During this time, a Pre-Birth Order will be completed, which is a crucial court document establishing your legal parentage of the child. Our support continues throughout the pregnancy, the birth process, and beyond. You will never be alone in this journey. We will also help with any required paperwork for traveling home with your newborn once they are born!
Our dedicated team will be with you every step of the way, ensuring that your surrogacy experience is as smooth and supportive as possible.
